A/N: Sorry about the lack of a Whisper update this week. I’ve been busy with my job hunt (on the upside I had an interview this week and have three more this week).

“Sonia-ida, Matthias-idan, it is an honour to meet you and your children at last.” Even though Indaturan had not had chance to introduce the dragon he had returned with, the grey eyes and resemblance to Indaturan made it clear he was Kandarian. “My brother speaks of you often, though I must admit I am more sceptical of your alliance than he is.” Read the rest of this entry »

“Chaya, dear!” Alaryia helped the Dryad to a seat as soon as the group teleported to her palace. “How are you? It looks like the venom is affecting you.”

“It is,” Chaya said. “But not too badly yet. I actually feel better than I did so I think the antidote you’re feeding him is working.”

“It is,” Alaryia said. “Alsia-ida identified it correctly, thank goodness, but that still leaves us the question of what to do with him. Even if you were willing to die, we can’t kill him yet. Even knocking him into transition would have the same effect.” Read the rest of this entry »

A/N: Happy New Year!

“Well it’s not good, certainly,” Alaryia said. “But he’s not dead yet so we can still prevent the worst disaster coming to pass. I hate to say it but we’re going to have to save the evil bastard’s life for now.”

“Would it really cause his entire court to frenzy?” Matthias asked.

“Most of it, at least,” Estara said. “It’s the psychic shock. Most of us set up a second just in case. But there’s another reason we can’t kill him out of hand.” Read the rest of this entry »

Lydia held her breath and resisted the urge to coil more tightly around Andrew as the dark sanctuary shuddered again. She was trying to protect him, not accidentally crush him.

“I think we’ve stopped dropping, at least,” Naria said.

We have, He who was Indarian said. And they’ve noticed. I wonder what they’ll try next. Read the rest of this entry »

A/N: Merry Christmas, Readers! Hope you all had a good one!

Karen buried an axe into the chest of one of the Kithreiri trying to stop her and Alban from reaching her father and then kicked him off the blade before whirling as she sensed someone behind her, nearly hitting her father in the process.

Careful, Kaz, he sounded surprisingly calm as he ducked under the blow. I’d rather not go down to to friendly fire. That would be embarrassing. Read the rest of this entry »

A/N: Hey, Peeps! Please read this post. I’m afraid it’s a begging post but please take a look.

I could really use your help.

“Are you okay, mum?” Daniel asked once he and Alsia had fought their way through her attackers.

“Somehow.” Sonia was standing back to back with Nephele and both of them were covered in multicoloured Kithreiri blood. “But that was hairy – they nearly got through my defences. Is it just me or am I being singled out for attention here?”

“It’s not just you, Sonia-ida,” Alsia said. “I suspect Xantaria is having her people go after you as a favour to Mitakrian, but don’t worry – we’ve got you’re back.” Read the rest of this entry »

Daniel was fighting off a pair of light-wielding Kithreiri when he sensed that Andrew was in danger. Neither of his opponents were particularly strong but the two of them together were already giving him trouble and the shock off the sudden impression made him stumble, allowing one of his opponents to kick his legs out from under him and stab down at him with a glowing sword. He desperately rolled out of the way before it hit, causing the sword to bury itself in the ground instead of his head, and found himself in the line of his other opponent’s claws. He closed his eyes as he realised there was no way to get out of the way this time – but the attack never hit. He opened them cautiously in time to see his attacker sliding off a blue ice blade. The image showed Xantaria and Mitakrian standing on the ground just below the floating rock that housed the dark sanctuary. Mitakrian was sitting on the ground with his hands palm-down the soil and his eyes closed while Xantaria hurled blood-red bolts of lightning at the floating rock. She would occasionally try to leap up to ledge by the entrance only to be buffeted away and smashed back into the ground by the winds. Still, it seemed to Lydia that she was getting closer each time. After a few moments, she realised that the rock was getting slowly closer to the ground and that the barren, windswept plain was looking lusher around Mitakrian. Read the rest of this entry »

Lydia woke with a start as the walls began shaking.

What the hell?! She looked around wildly. What’s happening?

He who was Indirian didn’t answer immediately but she saw shadowy tendrils break off from the pillar of shadow and flow into the walls. After a moment, the shaking stopped and he finally spoke. Read the rest of this entry »

A/N: Hey peeps! If you would like to pre-order a signed paperback of Haventon Book One (which I am just sorting for publication. I have the file I just need to upload it to the printer and check the proof. Sorry for the delay) let me know in the comments. If there’s enough interest I’ll set something up.

He who was Indarian’s energy had a warm pleasant flavour to it and it was also very rich. Lydia had barely taken any and already she felt completely satiated. She purred like a cat and curled up on the cushions in her dragon form.

Thank you for that, she said mentally, recalling that her physical voice seemed to hurt people in this form. I feel better now.

Are you sure that’s all you need? He sounded surprised. Read the rest of this entry »
