It was several more hours before Takilyan returned but when he did, Gerian was with him.

“Endaria-miria will join us soon,” Takilyan said. “She’s posting extra troops to the border she shares with Mitakrian in case of an explosion.”

“Wise of her,” Alaryia said.

“Isn’t it,” Gerian said. “I expect no less of her.” He inclined his head to Alaryia and spoke in draconic. He even managed to keep his tone neutral, though it was clearly an effort.

Alaryia gave a half smile before replying formally.

“This is not something I ever expected to be doing,” he said. “But Mitakrian does need dealing with.” He turned to Sonia. “Sonia-ida, would you thank your sister for me? I believe her intevention saved me from Xantaria’s assassination attempt. I’ve found two of her spies in my court since then and have reason to believe there are more.” He took a breath. “Also, tell her I owe her a life debt and I do pay my debts.”

“I will,” Sonia said.

“Thank you.” He turned to Alsia. “Alsia-ida, do you know where my sister is?”

Alsia gave him a long look but didn’t reply.

“You do, don’t you! Tell me, please!”

She just shook her head and turned to Alaryia. “We need to get Lady Chaya and some troops into position to grab the court before they can frenzy if we’re going to do this.”

“Which is the other reason I have sent troops to the border.” The dragon who had just appeared in the room was shape-shifted into the form of a flame nymph instead of wearing her own form for some reason.

Endaria-miria is transgender, according to Lyr, Lydia’s mother said for her alone. I would guess she finds nymph form more comfortable than her own body.

Oh, Lydia said. Makes sense. How did you know what I was thinking? Did I leak?

Just a smidge of puzzlement, Sonia said.

During their exchange, Alaryia and Endaria had gone through the formalities and had started to discuss the plan.

“Pyria is with my troops,” Endaria said. “I’m going to assume we’re all agreed on the solution so I think we should send Lady Chaya to join them just before we do this.”

“Agreed,” Alaryia said. “And I’ll send backup if you’ll permit it.”

“Thank you,” she said. “We’ll need all the troops we can get if our timing slips and we end up having to contain them.”

“Good,” Alaryia said. “Now we just need Darylyan to wake up and we can do this.”

“And he does deserve some rest after what he did this morning,” Endaria agreed. “But we can’t wait too long. His people will try to rescue him if we do.”

“Then it’s a good job I’m awake,” Darylyan said from the door. He still looked completely shattered. “Does someone want to bring me up to speed? Though from the size of this convocation and the fact Lady Chaya is here, I’m going to guess that we captured Mitakrian somehow and you have a plan to deal with him? So tell me and we’ll see if I agree.”

Well, I am curious how that will work out… 🙂

Why do they not do the same for Xantaria? pass judgement I mean…

    PS: typo and stuff:
I believe her *intevention* saved me from Xantaria’s assassination attempt. => missing *r* => inte*r*vention

The thought speak between Lydia and her mother should be in italics…

They need to catch her first. Though she’s only an ida so the formalities aren’t so intense once they do – only one of the mirari requires that. (Otherwise they would have needed a consensus to deal with Sav).
