BIOGRAPHY (to be expanded)
Bennu was hatched in Fiamma Eyrie at the exact moment his heart friend drew her first breath in the human world (as is normal) and has been waiting for her ever since. He was fortunate that his flock were not anti-human and so treated him no differently from other fleglings, but being stuck in his resting form made life hard. Not only were many speakers less accepting, but he was powerless to defend himself.
He could sense Lydia’s iminent arrival on the day the portal opened and followed the calling he felt to the area she and her siblings
PHYSICAL APPEARANCE
In resting form Bennu resembles an ordinary falcon or kestrel, but with a reddish-gold cast to his feathers. His full form is larger and resembles a large eagle with flames for feathers.
PERSONALITY & TRAITS
Bennu is forward thinking and helpful. When Lydia is hungry in Chapter One he takes the iniative and goes and finds a rabbit for her. Unlike Kimi he doesn’t seem to know much about history and at times seems as ignorant as the kids about their situation. He is, however, a lot more tactful than Lydia.

Etymology : According to Wikipedia ‘the Bennu bird serves as the Egyptian correspondence to the phoenix, and is said to be the soul of the Sun-God Ra. Some of the titles of the Bennu bird were “He Who Came Into Being by Himself,” “Ascending One,” and “Lord of Jubilees.” While Bennu is the common name given to the bird in English, the original vowels of the name spelled as bnn by Egyptian scribes are uncertain, although it may have been pronounced something like banana. The name is related to the verb wabana (spelled wbn in Egyptian texts becoming Coptic ouoein), meaning “to rise brilliantly,” or “to shine.”
