It was only a moment later when Ebona came galloping up with Halia and Alariya on her back. Halia leapt off Ebona’s bck and rushed straight to Kiasan while Alaryia rushed to Matthias’s side and joined the fight.

Halia laid a hand on Kiasan’s head for a moment before smiling. “You did a good job stopping the bleeding, Daniel-idan. I’ll just have to get rid of the blood that had already pooled and heal the damage from the pressure. He’ll be fine. You saved his life.” She closed her eyes and began glowing. “You keep drinking the antidote. I’ll see what I can do for you once I’ve finished wth Kiasan but I suspect you’ll need to wait for mother.”

“Okay.” Daniel looked back at the fight and saw that Savira was on the back foot to his father and Alaryia. “I don’t think that will be long.”

“No,” Halia agreed. “Especially since the others will be here soon and then she’ll be even more outnumbered.”

Daniel continued watching the fight and realised something. Savira was now concentrating all her attacks on Matthias, obviously trying to kill him.

“She knows she’s lost,” Ebona said. “And she really wants your father dead before that.”

“Yes.” Daniel clenched his fists as his father dodged a particularly nasty blow. “It looks like it. Please be all right, dad.”

“Don’t worry, Dan.” Karen had come up behind hm with Sonia. “Mum and I won’t let her do anything to Dad.” She unshipped her axes and dived towards the battle.

Sonia however paused and knelt down by Daniel. “How are you doing?”

“All right,” he said. “I have the antidote. Why is everyone arrive in drips and drabs?”

Sonia sighed. “We’re meeting a lot of resistance in spite of the bombs and don’t want to be hit from behind, so we’re all clearing our sectors first. Kaz and I had an easy one. I expect the rest will be here soon.” She squeezd his shoulder. “I’d better go and help.” She rose to her feet and lifted one of her fans, flapping it towards Savira who was attacking Matthias again. An intense gust of wind buffeted Savira and slammed her the wall. The dragon struggled to her feet but before she could attack again Sonia sent another blast of wind at her, lifting her off her feet and smashing her into the ceiling. “Or maybe I’ll just stand here and help,” Sonia said dryly. “She’s really weak to Wind affinity for some reason.”

“I wish someone had mentioned that,” Matthias said. “It would have been nice to know.” With Sonia smashing Savira around, he, Karen and Eritan had stoppped fighting and were just standing there watching.

“I don’t think anyone knew,” Halia said. “I certainly didn’t. She’s a mind primary so it’s not an obvious weakness. Must be a personal idiosyncracy that she hid well.”

“Interesting.” Matthias winced as Sonia tossed Savira into another wall.. “Stop playing with her Sonia. She barely conscious and can’t fight any more. It’s not nice.”

“Well I’m not feeling very nice,” Sonia said. “She tried to kill Lyd, Dan and you.” Savira was lifted one more time and slammed into the floor even harder, knocking her out. “But I suppose you’re right.”
