“Okay, I think we need to back up few steps,” Sonia said. “Because I don’t see how you get from someone needing to make Marian forget how to block the Morgans to Celeste Lave–”

“Damn! Are you telling me that Celeste is James’ daughter?” Matthias interrupted. “We always wondered based on the timing and Celeste’s primary but Kezia always denied it.” He glanced sideways at Sonia. “One night stand in their last year at high school.” Read the rest of this entry »

“You think you could still interface with one of the prototypes?” Promise asked. “Even after a few centuries of genetic dilution?”

“If you’d have asked me that a few weeks ago I’d have said no but having met you I think it’s somewhat possible. At least I seem to have the genetic empathy that was engineered into us.” Read the rest of this entry »

“I think it’s a wonderful idea,” Sonia said. “I remember you as a kid, Marian, and Mitakrian ruined your life as much as he did ours. A new life would be good for you as well, I think.” She shook her head. “Good grief, Marian, how did you even keep going when you were in all that pain? I wasn’t in half as bad a state and I was crippled.” Read the rest of this entry »

“I have no idea,” Indaturan said. “As far as I know, my aunt had no connection to the clans that initiated the purge.” He put his hand over Marian’s. “Show me what you are sensing?

“Of course.” She closed her eyes. They stood there a moment before Indaturan pulled back with a gasp.

“What the heck! I think there’s more information under that lock than in the main content.” He scowled at the block. “We need to find the password.” Read the rest of this entry »

By the time the others returned David was getting used to the feel of the Mists and had learned to stop himself crossing over which was a relief, but he still hadn’t learned to fully glamour his eyes though Tyler thought he’d pass unless someone took a close look. Read the rest of this entry »

Marian did look better, Lydia decided. When she’d last seen her on the day after the attack on the school, the woman had noticeably been in pain when she moved – but not any more. There were still pain lines on her face but they were probably mental rather than physical. She was sitting in a chair with a crystal block in her hands and several others in a basket next to her, but she looked up as they entered and immediately leapt to her feet.

“Mummy!” She ran to Julie and hugged her. Read the rest of this entry »

True the her word, Joanne returned a few minutes later with a bag slung over her shoulder.

“You were right,” she said. “Mum wasn’t happy. She thinks you’re planning to kidnap me and hold me hostage. I asked why you’d let me come and explain if that was the case and it was my brain that was torn up, not hers, so she didn’t have a say. That shut her up but she’ll fret like crazy, I can tell.”

“You pack quickly,” Sonia said. Read the rest of this entry »

Storm called Promise as soon as they agreed with her. Amanpreet was very glad Niobe was with her because they talked in Storm and Umi’s language and she needed her friend to interpret.

“That would explain his secrecy about how he knows what he knows,” Whisper said after Storm called him and explained what they discovered. “But if he wants to keep it private should you not respect his wishes.” Read the rest of this entry »

While most people were still recovering from Joanne’s announcement, Darlryan was scowling thoughtfully at her.

“Ind can probably fix what the young lady has done to herself so far,” he said. “But it’s interesting. What she’s describing isn’t clairvoyance, it’s a temporal affinity. We always knew it was technically possible but I don’t recall any confirmed cases. If it tears you up that way, I guess we know why, now. We can fix it for now but continually fixing you isn’t practical.” Read the rest of this entry »

Haventon Book One: Haventon Born now available as an ebook

October 25th, 2015  |  Published in Haventon Chronicles

Haventon Born Cover

Okay peeps! The ebook version of Haventon Born is live. It’s been edited and there are some minor changes from the original version. More importantly  it contains an 8000 word bonus story “Moonlight and Memories” which will never be available on the site.

The paperback version is still in process and will hopefully be available by Halloween.

Cover Blurb:

Vampires. Mere stories and myths until David’s dearest sister becomes one. He’s hunted them relentlessly ever since. Given that Haventon attracts supernatural creatures like a magnet does iron, David has become a well-practiced and skillful hunter.

But his hard-earned confidence betrays him and his prey, an elder vampire, takes the upper hand. Leisa doesn’t kill him, but shatters his certainty. Into his rebuilding effort comes The Order, directors of his hunting, with an order to supervise a novice hunter. Her error, attacking a human, requires all his attention at a time he can ill afford it.

Anna, the novice, asks him to examine her notes, to explain where she went wrong. While her mistake becomes understandable, it’s also attracted dangerous attention. More dangerous, perhaps, than the female vampire stalking him.

But not more dangerous than the town he and Anna were born in.

Haventon hasn’t finished with them yet.

It hasn’t even begun.
