A/N: Hey peeps! If you would like to pre-order a signed paperback of Haventon Book One (which I am just sorting for publication. I have the file I just need to upload it to the printer and check the proof. Sorry for the delay) let me know in the comments. If there’s enough interest I’ll set something up.
He who was Indarian’s energy had a warm pleasant flavour to it and it was also very rich. Lydia had barely taken any and already she felt completely satiated. She purred like a cat and curled up on the cushions in her dragon form.
Thank you for that, she said mentally, recalling that her physical voice seemed to hurt people in this form. I feel better now.
Are you sure that’s all you need? He sounded surprised. Read the rest of this entry »

Breakfast next morning was a quiet affair. No one seemed inclined to talk much, not even to rehash battle plans. The silence was oppressive and Lydia stared at her scrambled eggs and chewed her lip.
“Something isn’t right here,” she said finally. “We’re never this quiet and I feel so apprehensive but I’m not sensing anything. Is someone blocking us again?” Read the rest of this entry »

There were no lights on at the run down terraced house Laurel rented when they arrived and Michael was certain that she should be awake by now.
“Maybe she’s gone out already,” Leisa said. “She likes to get out as I recall. I can’t blame her living in this dump.” Read the rest of this entry »

Matthias leafed through the papers with a deepening scowl.
“What do they say, dad?” Karen attempted to read over his shoulder but the notes were extremely complex and at least partly in draconic.
“I only understand about half of this,” he replied. “But it’s bad. If I’m understanding this, whoever did this can use the heart bracelets to suck the energy out of the wearer. I think he’s saying that the bracelets are connected to something and were planning to use us as batteries.” Read the rest of this entry »

What Laxmi had called Emms’s second lab turned out to be hidden in the reaches, not far enough from the Heartlands to be highly unstable or expose speakers to the effects of mabain but enough that the scrubby woodland around it seemed to shift slightly whenever Karen wasn’t looking at it. She wasn’t the only one to notice it because Andrew stopped in front of her and groaned. Read the rest of this entry »

A/N: Sorry this is late this week.
“These stories are very disturbing,” Prima said after she had read through a few from Amanpreet’s books. “The callous casualness of the way they treated their subjects. I know they are horrible but you think they’d treat their own kin with more respect. I didn’t think I could detest them more than I already did, but this does that. I mean I can understand why they were doing the experiments given the genetic number that has apparently been done on them but the sheer cruelty of this was completely unnecessary.” Read the rest of this entry »

“Not much of a plan, really,” Matthias said quietly. “Darlryan is going to the point where Emms opened the tear. We’re going with him for backup on the Earth side of the tear. The dragons will take the Void side.”
“I’ll fire Andarian’s staff through the crack,” Darlryan said. “That should calm the void storm and then the crack should close naturally over the next two or three weeks. The staff may also speed the closure but I’m not completely certain of that.” Read the rest of this entry »

The Dark Sanctuary wasn’t hard to spot even from the outside. The shimmering black spire hovered above the oddly twisted landscape of the air affinity area that lay around it. Lydia surveyed it thoughtfully. She could see a ledge at the bottom where there was apparently supposed to be an entrance but she could see no sign of how they were supposed to get up there or indeed of the door itself. “David!” His mother hugged him tightly when she arrived with Philip and Emma. “Phil told me what’s been going on. Thank goodness you’re okay!” She pulled back and looked at his eyes. “Ah, yes. I can see the silver if I look. You do have my mother’s eyes and you need to get better at glamour. I never imagined you might be a Mistwalker. You never showed the slightest sign of a glamour affinity as a child and I was looking. I would have tried to contact mum if I’d known.” Read the rest of this entry »

“How are you doing?” Sonia smiled at Rantalryan. “Is your essence healing from your transformation?”
“It is,” he said. “I’m probably well enough to swear allegiance and join you soon.” He cast an enquiring look at Alaryia, who nodded.
“Another few days, I think,” Alaryia said. “Your essence seems settled now but Mitakrian did such a number on you by making you fight so soon that I want to be sure.” Read the rest of this entry »
