“Kaz did say that you’re some sort of relative,” Lydia said. “And I’m pleased to meet you as well.” She looked up the Doncaster Belle’s poster above the bed. “You like football?”
“I like sport,” Maggiee said. “But I’m especially fond of football. What about you? I mean Kaz never told me that she had a sister and certainly not that she’s a dragon.”
“I wasn’t until yesterday,” Lydia said. Read the rest of this entry »

“Drew can definitely fight,” Daniel said. “You saw how well he did when we stopped that Kithreian in London.”
“Yes,” Sonia said. “It was quite impressive. I’ve been meaning to ask: did Anthony teach you that trick?”
“Yeah,” Andrew said. “He said it would stop dragon cold and I figured it would work against a Kithreian as well.”
“I thought so, it looked like one of his tricks.” She nodded to herself. “Keep training, Drew. Not wanting to fight is admirable but probably not practical in the current circumstances.” She looked over at James. “So, rationing?” Read the rest of this entry »

“Yes, Kiataran would be a good choice, I think,” Darlryan said. “I’ll call him and see if he’s willing. He does like Andrew so I think he will be.” He looked at Sonia and Matthias. “If you’re okay with that?”
“Would you loan him to Drew the way Ystelyan has loaned him Naria?” Matthias asked.
“I will,” Darlryan said. “And anyone who objects to it being unorthodox can go hang themselves.” Read the rest of this entry »

Faith picked up Savira’s egg and stared at it. “That is quite astounding.” She closed her eyes and concentrated. “Ahh, I see, so you use your energy to form not only your new infant form but the nutriment as well?”
Darlryan nodded. “That’s why it’s so hard for the kedri. They aren’t strong enough to form their own yolk, as it were, so their mirari or idri have to do it for them.” Read the rest of this entry »

“Amisia is doing very well,” the unicorn replied. “Though she keeps sneaking out of bed and reopening her wounds or her healing would be even further along.”
“I want to look around,” she said. “This city is pretty.”
“You can look around once you can walk more than two steps without bleeding all over the floor,” he said firmly. “If you won’t consider yourself, then at least consider the effect it has on Alison when your condition worsens. You’re jeopardising her recovery as well.” Read the rest of this entry »

“Yes, let’s go!” Savira bounced excitedly. “This is so exciting. Even if this isn’t my cure it will give us so much important data.” She looked over Darlryan. “Will you make notes on what happens to mine and Kal’s bond while I’m in the shell for me, please?”
Darlryan laughed and shook his head. “You shouldn’t have to ask, Savira. Of course I will. I won’t even charge you for the favour.” He ruffled her hair. “I’ll be keeping an eye on you as well.” Read the rest of this entry »

“This way, please,” Saeaera said as soon as they arrived in Waldhafen. “We have prepared a stasis bud in a currently unused chamber.” She smiled at Kaliss. “I hope this works for you.”
“Thank you,” Kaliss said.
Saeaera led them down a flight of stairs into a chamber formed beneath one of the great trees of the city. The roots formed thick walls dimly lit by patches of moss. Where each root joined the mossy floor, there was large bud, but only one of them was currently open. Kaliss immediately ran over to it and started to step on to the pad. Savira tried to follow her but Darlryan jerked the chain, pulling her up short. Read the rest of this entry »

“Are you sure you can get the message in without him knowing?” Ystelyan said.
“I wouldn’t suggest it if I weren’t,” Darlryan said.
“Then yes, I think it’s a good idea,” Ystelyan said. “We do need to know.”
Darlryan waited while the others murmured their agreement and then formed an imp before sending it shooting off. “If it is Salindan’s son, what are we going to do about it?”
“Something, I hope,” Sarilli said. “I have heard enough about this Gerian not to want Lasil’s heart friend to grow up in his court.” Read the rest of this entry »

Kelaria did indeed arrive within the hour with her daughter in a carrier on her back.
“Is this actually possible?” she asked. “I mean, she does have odd dreams sometimes but what infant doesn’t? I wouldn’t have thought…” She trailed off and shook her head in disbelief. Read the rest of this entry »

A/N: Argh! Sorry this is late guys. I was so tired after work yesterday I completely forgot it was Monday. *facepalm*
“May I come with you?” Malisia asked. “I’m kind of curious about this as well, even though it doesn’t really effect me. I’m always surprised Savira didn’t experiment on goblins. The ways that we differ from both speakers and dragons might have been relevent.” She hesitated. “On the other hand, I’m glad it didn’t occur to her.”
“Of course you may,” Sonia said as they walked together towards the throne room. “What differences do you think might have been relevant?” Read the rest of this entry »
