Anthony looked even more exhausted than Sarah had when he opened the door to his room. Andrew had intended to give the man a tongue lashing at the very least but when he saw his grey skin, shaking hands and sunken eyes he found that he couldn’t. Behind him he heard Lyrrekka gasp and she pushed past Andrew to Anthony’s side.

“I thought Collette had dealt with all the microbes?” She took him by the arm and guided him to sit on the bed.

“She did,” he said. “And Sarah healed all the damage. But I’ve got more of the venom in my system than she did. Even knowing the problem I can’t keep on top of it and Sarah needed her strength for herself and Selene.” Read the rest of this entry »

A/N: Sorry this is so late. I swear I’ll get next Tuesday’s up in time.

“You can break the link between mas- between Ragnar and me?” Caroline hugged her knees as she looked up at Leisa. “He said that breaking the bond that his feeding on me had forged between us was impossible.”

“He lied to you,” Leisa said gently. “There are actually several ways to do it as he knows full well.” She laid a hand on Caroline’s arm. “I won’t lie to you – most of them aren’t easy and the simplest one has drawbacks.”

“What sort of drawbacks?” Caroline asked. Read the rest of this entry »

“You look better,” Sonia said when Andrew and Naria emerged from the portal. “I take it you have the antidote?”

“Yes, and the formula – though we’ll need to check if any of the other dragons can brew it. because Antidotes are not a thing I’m good at.”

“I can.” Kelaria raised her hand. “I’m not the best antidote brewer but I can do it. My mother taught me. But it might be worth seeing if you can borrow a few goblins from Alaryia-miria’s court. We may need to produce it in bulk and that takes a number of brewers.” Read the rest of this entry »

“Are you ready?” Darlryan asked.

Naria nodded. “Yes.”

“Are you sure it’s safe for her to take?” Ystelyan asked. Andrew was sure the dragon hadn’t been even been in the room just a moment ago, but somehow now he was sitting on his throne.

“I’m sure it’s safe,” he said. “I tested that on myself. What I’m not-” He paused and smiled at Naria who was staring at him. “What?” Read the rest of this entry »

Lucas had soothed the two teens into sleep. As they waited for the healers to return, he looked around scowling.

“Perhaps we should move the bodies as well,” he said after a long moment. “It’ll be obvious what happened here if we leave them like this.” Read the rest of this entry »

The Storm Child Arc IndieGoGo Campaign Announcement

February 2nd, 2013  |  Published in News

As promised here is the date announcement for the IndieGoGo campaign for the preproduction costs for The Storm Child Arc.

The campaign will commence Tuesday 12th 2013 in the evening UK time and will run for 32 days.

The target will be $500 again. If you’re planning to contribute could you try and do it early on if possible (I know it might not be). The reason I ask this is that one of the metrics that sets ifully funded campaigns apart from less successful ones is funding a third of target in the first quarter of the campaign. In this case this means I have a target of $167 in the first eight days.

Perks available this time include – alongside the books – the chance to name a character in the third or fourth arcs, getting on my Christmas card list, a 1500 word story about your favourite character, and a skype call or G+ hangout with me where I will read you your favourite scene.

So please if you you have some spare moolah consider contributing to creating book 2 and if you don’t please consider signal boosting the campaign when it launches.

Thank you!

Becka

A/N: The announcement on the start date for the IndieGoGo Campaign for “The Storm Child” Arc will be up tomorrow.

Naria leaned against Andrew while Elarian stood behind her with his hands on her shoulders. Andrew could tell she trusted the other dragon as she relaxed completely. He wished he was as certain, but the idea of a death affinity creeped him out.

“Of course I trust him, silly!” Naria said, sounding exasperated. “I’ve known him since we were both children. He’s killing the bacteria so they can’t produce more venom.” Read the rest of this entry »

David found that his head was gradually clearing and by the time they heard the rescue team pulling up outside he felt normal again. He looked around and saw Daniel gently shaking Jason awake. It was testament to how exhausted Anna’s brother had been that he had managed to sleep given how upset and worried he’d been. The news that Anna was safe seemed to dispel any grogginess however since as soon as the group came in he leapt to his feet and rushed over to Michael who was carrying the unconscious Anna.

“What happened? Is she hurt? Daniel said that she was okay?” Read the rest of this entry »

Lydia was glad that she had enveloped herself and her companions in an extra shield of warmth before they teleported. When they appeared outside the Bullring Shopping Centre, the entire area was a swirling tornado of razor-sharp ice that would have sliced into her skin if she hadn’t been protected.

She put a hand on the bronze bull statue and tried to get her bearings but it was years since she’d last been there and the ice storm made visibility almost nil. Read the rest of this entry »
